England Photoblog #3

(Blog originally dated June 7, 2007)

yes, i know i may be going overboard with all these blogs. but you dont have to look if you dont like them! haha.

So yesterday my dad didn't have to go work until around 5 pm, so we spent the day in York, a town not too far away from Harrogate. We visited an ancient church, older than the Bolton Abbey from the last blog, and in way better condition. Also we went to a train museum, and explored the Marketplace. Check these pics out!

On my grave I want a statue of me posed like this.

These guys don't look too happy.

I love this, I dunno why, I just do...

I was enjoying myself. really.

Thats all of York. But wait, theres more! My dad and one of his friends at work arranged for his friends son and I to go on a little trip today. My new friend Tim is 20, from Texas, and we got along well. We like the same music, humor, etc. Yay for meeting new people. We took at train at 10 in the morning to see Knaresborough, another little town like 8 minutes away. We took a guided tour of the ruins of a castle, another old church (not quite as old as the other two), ate lunch, and just walked around before taking the train back. We got home around 3.

England Photoblog #2

(Blog originally dated June 5, 2007)

Soooo last night when my dad got home from work we went out of Harrogate a ways to see this old abbey called Bolton Abbey. Its an 850 year old church, that still operates today! It was pretty cool. After that we went a little further to a village called Appletreewick. This place was tiny. Were talking 4 or 5 houses and a pub. (With more houses further out in the countryside and such) We at the pub, called The New Inn. The food was excellent. We talked to this friendly english man who was having dessert in the same room as us. The old couple who ran the place and did the cooking came out and talked to us, it was cool talking to them because they had actually been to Northern California a few years ago...

Today was much like yesterday. Did a lot of wandering in the town. Bought some shoes for 8 pounds (16 U.S. dollars), pretty cheap if you ask me. Also got a kinda expensive shirt. 25 pounds. not too bad tho. Anyway, here are some pics from last night and today.

BLACK CAT! RUN! no. In England, black cats are considered good luck.

I'd like to see signs like these in parts of Manteca...heh

I'd hate to see the plant this seed produces.

Another resturaunt with a not-so-appetizing name.

Cool statues in one part of town.
